“TNT transport tracking” and “TNT parcel tracking” are just two search phrases for the same thing: tracking a TNT shipment online. Both lead you to TNT’s tracking tool, where a consignment number shows your parcel’s status.

In this guide:

TNT Express, now part of FedEx, runs express delivery networks across Europe and the world. Whether you call it transport tracking or parcel tracking, the process is identical — one tracking page, one consignment number.

TNT consignment numbers explained

TNT consignment numbers are usually 9 digits long and appear on your shipping label and booking confirmation. This number is the key to the whole tracking system: enter it on the tracking page and you will see every scan from collection to delivery. Keep the label until the parcel arrives in case you need the number again.

Transport vs parcel: is there a difference?

For most senders, no. “Transport” is simply the word many European users type when they mean freight or shipment tracking. One exception: large business freight bookings sometimes travel on a booking reference rather than a standard 9-digit consignment number. If your 9-digit number returns no result and your shipment is palletised freight, check your booking confirmation for a separate reference and ask your TNT account manager.

How to track your TNT shipment

Go to our TNT tracking page, enter the full consignment number, and press Track. The status loads from TNT’s official system. For other carriers, see all couriers.

Common TNT tracking statuses

Typical statuses include “Shipment picked up”, “In transit”, “At delivery depot”, “Out for delivery” and “Delivered”. If your parcel crosses borders, you may also see customs clearance scans — these are normal and usually clear within a day or two.

TNT tracking for international shipments

International TNT shipments show extra scans for export and import customs clearance. These scans are routine: your parcel is checked against customs rules in each country it passes through, which usually takes a few hours but can extend to a couple of days. Duties or taxes may be due on delivery depending on the destination country’s rules — the recipient is normally responsible for these charges.

If tracking stalls on a customs scan for more than 3 business days, contact TNT with your consignment number. In most cases they will tell you whether paperwork is missing or the parcel is simply queued for inspection.

What is a TNT consignment number?

It is the 9-digit tracking number assigned to your TNT shipment, printed on the label and booking confirmation.

Why does my TNT tracking show no results?

The usual causes are a mistyped number or a parcel that has not been collected yet. Wait 24 hours after booking, verify the digits, then contact the sender or TNT.

Can I track TNT freight with a booking reference?

Standard tracking uses the consignment number. For freight bookings with a different reference format, use TNT’s freight tracking or contact your account manager.

Is TNT the same as FedEx now?

TNT Express was acquired by FedEx, and the two networks are increasingly integrated. TNT-branded tracking still works through TNT’s tracking tools.
