Can't find your tracking number? Here's exactly where to look: booking receipt, SMS, email, and e-commerce order pages — for DPD, Royal Mail, DHL and every courier.

Your tracking (consignment) number is the key to following your parcel. Here’s where to find it for any courier — DPD, Royal Mail, DHL, FedEx or UPS.

1. The booking receipt

When a parcel is booked at a courier office, the receipt prints a tracking or consignment number — usually near the top, labelled “Tracking No”, “Consignment No” or “AWB”. Keep this receipt until delivery.

2. SMS confirmation

Most couriers (DPD, Evri, DHL) send an SMS to the booker’s mobile number with the tracking number and a tracking link. Search your messages for the courier’s name.

3. Email confirmation

For online bookings and e-commerce orders, the tracking number arrives by email — check the shipping confirmation or “your order has been dispatched” message, including the spam folder.

4. E-commerce order page

Marketplaces and online stores show the courier name and tracking number under order details or shipment info. Click it to track, or copy the number into our search box.

5. Ask the sender

If you’re receiving the parcel, the sender has the receipt and the number. One message — “please share the tracking number” — solves most cases.

Tips

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find my tracking number?

Your tracking number is on the booking receipt from the courier office, in the confirmation SMS sent to the booker's phone, or in the shipping email for online orders. Ask the sender to share it if you are the receiver.

What does a tracking number look like?

It is usually a mix of 8–16 letters and digits, for example a 12-digit consignment number. Each courier uses its own format — check the courier's tracking page on this site for details.

Can I track without a tracking number?

Most couriers need the tracking number. Without it, try the order ID on the e-commerce site you bought from, or ask the sender for the courier receipt. As a last resort, call the courier's helpline with the sender and receiver details.
