DHL tracking — FAQs

How can I track my DHL shipment?

Enter your DHL tracking number in the tracking box at the top of this page and press Track. Your parcel’s live status loads from DHL’s official tracking system — no account needed.

What is the DHL tracking number format?

DHL Express tracking numbers are typically 10 digits (e.g. 1234567890). DHL eCommerce / DHL Global Mail use different, longer alphanumeric formats. Enter the full number exactly as printed, without spaces.

What is the difference between DHL Express and DHL eCommerce tracking?

DHL Express is the time-definite international courier (1–3 business days, 10-digit tracking numbers). DHL eCommerce handles packets and parcels with slower delivery and a different tracking system. Make sure you track on the right DHL service — we have a separate page for DHL eCommerce tracking.

Where is my DHL tracking number?

Check three places: the shipping receipt or airway bill, the SMS/email confirmation from DHL or the sender, and your DHL account shipment history if you booked online.

My DHL tracking is not updating. What should I do?

New shipments can take up to 24 hours to appear. Re-check the number for typos and confirm you’re using the right DHL service (Express vs eCommerce). If nothing shows after a day, or the status hasn’t moved for 48 hours, contact DHL via our DHL customer care page with your tracking number.

What does ‘in transit’ mean in DHL tracking?

‘In transit’ means your parcel is moving between DHL’s hubs or cities and has not yet reached the destination facility. It is a normal mid-journey status — expect another scan at the next sorting hub.

What does ‘out for delivery’ mean?

‘Out for delivery’ means the DHL courier has your parcel and delivery is scheduled for today. Keep your phone reachable — the courier may call for directions or access.

How long does DHL Express delivery take?

DHL Express Worldwide delivers internationally in about 1–3 business days, time-definite. Domestic and economy services take longer. Your tracking status shows the latest movement of your parcel.
